new vrs review from test drive mag

Featured Replies

Can't quite put my finger on what it is, but there is something just not quite right about the new Octy vRS!. :slant:

When I read that review, My first thought was HOW THE **** DO THEY KNOW HOW WELL THE CAR WILL HOLD ITS VALUE ?

Look how well the furby is holding its value, there is NO WAY that anyone can say how well a car will do value wise , it is all down to market forces, and how many they are building each year.

Look at these two pictures. The blue pic from Skoda advert makes it look a lot lower and more sporty. Then look at the Silver pic from Test Drive mag. Looks nothing like as cool. Have Skoda been Photoshopping?

cheers

derek

They've definately made it look lower. But I think the rest is the different colour and the extra lighting on the blue one. Looks great though :D

and clever shadowing...

and its silver so it looks poo

Nope , it's mostly because the press pic was taken from a very different angle

There's more 'beef' to the blue pic. The edges are more pronounced, in particular the bonnet and the fogs. But that does seem to be more to do with the lighting.

Hmmm not liking that at all :( Was really expecting better looks than that. It is deffo a fast moving Grandad mobile the new one

I've got to say that I'm not convinced yet. The Blue car has definately been shot to make the car look more desirable, whereas the natural shot I think gives a true impression. I really want one but it isn't looking too good at the moment

they are the same hight there is the same amount of tread showing on the front tyre... blue car has lots of shadowed at the front photoshopped on i have no dout..tricking the eye into making it look lower angle is slightly diffrent as well...

they both look like completely difffrent cars though... IMO it does not look as aggressive at the current VRS...looks more refined...more gentlemanly...not a bad point will keep the ***** away..

infact on closer inspection that offcial skoda pic has been hevely photoshopped

here is my 30 min attempt at the test drive pitcture

Be interesting to see how many people buy one, take off the front and put a FabiavRS front spoiler/fog combination. If that is possible!

Think that would make the car rather smart.Mind you,I quite like the subtle approach

I tried to put both pics together but I know someone else can make a better job of it!

The bottom of the skirt looks curved on the blue one and straight on the silver for a start. Plenty other differences too. I'm ordering the blue one!

i think they've used a filter distortion effect on the image makeing it "pop out" in a way to enhance the curves and the bold statement they want this car to produce :)

its all photoshop trickry see my attempt after just 30mins in photoshop it already starting to look like a diffrent car...meaner, more curvy, aggresive, by adding shadow and light... and i didnt even start to strech and move and body pannels... what im saying is you cannot directly compair the two pctures and say why doesnt it look like what they said it would...in real life you will never be able to order the blue as it doesnt exist...

the same applies if you see a piture of a model flawless skin, beautiful, curves is the person you see in the magazine in real life they look positivly ordinary in compairson ...

Joel

The blue looks better because the angle it was shot at give it a wider stance and lower. Don't really think it has to do with the photoshop effects...good work on that dude, loks better, but still looks the same if you get the jist..
