What cars are classed in this range, is it the Fab VRS only

Paul :thumbup:

T = Turbo

D = Diesel

I = Intercooler?

PD = Pumpe Duse - injection system if I'm right.

There is also a 150HP version of this engine (maybe even a 100HP, but I'm not sure). They are used in entire VAG group: Golf, Polo, Passat, A3, A4, Ibiza, Leon, Fabia, Octavia...

TDI = Turbo Direct Injection

PD = Pumpe Duse (German for "Pump Injector")

Cheers guys

Paul. :thumbup:

What the Pumpe Duse means is that instead of a single fuel pump which supplies fuel to all the injectors, each cylinder has it's own fuel pump/injector combination.

This apparently allows the fuel to be injected more precisely and at higher pressure, giving better fuel economy and more torque.

The PD has been offered in loads of flavours, 1.4 75bhp, 1.9 100, 115, 130, 150 and 160bhp and now 2.0 140 and 170bhp.
