Nilfisk help

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I went to use my 9 month old Nilfisk at the start of December to blast out my inlet manifold but the the hose that connects to the hand gun kept popping off every time the pressure built to shoot the water out.

I left it there as I had a holiday a couple of days later, so now comes the time try and sort it.

Now my guess is that I am missing a rubber washer thingy as indicated below, but could be wrong and hope someone has some suggestions and knowledge before I try to deal with this through Amazon/Maplin. (any advice on this is also welcome!)

You it will still be under warranty, but was hoping it was just a missing rubber bit that I could pick up from B&Q or the like after work.

Will give Nilfiak a shout tomorrow then.

Cheers for the suggestion

I've just looked at mine at it's exactly the same. The grove nearest the hose is where the quick release slides in and locks the lance to the pipe, so I recon it'll just be the quick release sticking, or broken If you look into the hole where the hose fits you should see 2 parallel steel solid wires that when you push the quick release button in on the handle get pushed apart to release the hose. I'd check that was working properly and they haven't started to stick. Some WD40 and a smear of copper grease might solve your problem if that's the cause?

It does sound like the quick release mech. is done for and will need to call Nilfisk like Chris suggested I reckon rather than trying to make it work :)

good idea. You might as well get a new one FOC under guarentee rather than have to buy one later.

Ive had a new hose and a new Gun assembly

It get a fair bit of use...COUGH

You need the new one with the steel braded hose then LOL.

It is I thought...Its the plastic outer shell that cracks when being wound around the reel

Theyve replaced it and now its starting again..Its not structural, just cosmetic

As above its meant to look like that it's where the hose is locked into the lance. Mine was going the same thing, popping off/getting very difficult to lock into the lance. It can be fixed with some lube. I used silicone grease, worked a treat.

Do not use copper grease/wd40 as they will destroy the rubber o-ring and damage the plastic lance. Most plastics/rubber don't mix well with petroleum based oils/greases.

As its under warranty, they will replace it Spaced99

No need for Silicone grease when in warranty IMO

Nilfisk customer service is great, they sent me a new gun despite my washer being 18 months out of warranty, I was amazed.
