Hello peeps,

 

I joined this site in 2006 and it has been of great use when tinkering with my first Skoda (Octavia Mk1 1.8T SLXi - which I understand was quite a rare model having the full leather heated seats!). I bought this car from Skoda in 2002 with 13,000 miles on the clock, and after 14 years but after another 150,000 miles I parted company with it in Dec 2014. Sadly things were starting to break on it such as the air con, boot lock, lots of squeaks and rattles etc.  However, I am now the proud owner of a 2011 (FL) Octavia VRS DSG and I absolutely love it - to the extent that I thought I would sort my profile out on here - properly!!

 

Interestly, what I have noticed about both my Octavia's, despite the huge age gap, is that Skoda still seem to insist on putting crap OEM tyres (Dunlops) and crap headlights (halogens) on from the start!!  WHY??  So I have some minor mods to make on the new motor.

 

Anyway, I have used this site many times to work on my car and being no mechanic and a bit backward at this stuff, you guys have helped me out massively so a HUGE thanks from me!
