MY2011 won't start - flat battery?

Featured Replies

Fellow Briskodians!

I'm having trouble starting my car today. Not sure if it's a flat battery or something more serious, so I made a little clip:

Can any of you confirm that this is a flat battery? It's been freezing cold here in Northern Norway today (and yes, I've been fiddling with VCDS too which doesn't help), so I'm hoping it's a flat battery.

Thanks!

Does sound like the battery, all the lights go out when the starter tries to engage.

Yeah that's the battery, how do I know... Because mine did the same today! :)

A trip to halfords and £80 later it's all fixed!

I changed a battery recenrly after a VCDS scan reported a fault related to low battery voltage. A discharge test on the battery confirmed that it was faulty.

A few hours of charging with a car charger and it started right up. Great news, I didn't like that machine gun style sound it made earlier.

Thanks for your help! :)
