Rear wash/wipe

Featured Replies

Anybody know how to adjust the water jet on the rear window wash/wipe?

Stick a pin in it and move the nozzle round

Doors anyone else find their rear washer dribbles? Seems to only be on hard acceleration, but I get out and there are water spots emanating from the rear washer.

My car is fine, no dribbles.

Me however....

I've had no problems with the Octavia.

I didn used to get the same thing on my Mondeo (from the front jets) which would bubble small amounts of liquid out when driving at motorway speeds.

I found that changing the washing solution I used stopped this.

I have this dribble issue from the beginning. I haven't complained about the dealer so far.

I notice the issue on hard acceleration and uphill. It also can happen after 1 week since the last usage/rain/car wash...

It is also a problem one some Golf mk7.

Maybe you don't accelerate hard enough Gerry :D

I have the odd dribble - my car squirts fine. Must be an age thing!!!!

This is my car in this summer.

I have done 1000 km (in a week) since the last car wash.

I did not activate the rear washer or the wipe and there was no rain.

When I took the photo it started to dribble again...

Count yourself lucky gentlemen - i had an E-Class Merc before my current O3, after 1 particular service and a software upgrade the rear washer would go every time the headlights switched from dipped to main beam!

Mine is just a low spec Octavia and for the first time in 7 months ownership I had to put the front wipers on double speed to attempt to clear heavy rainfall on the windscreen (summer rain being a very unusual event in the driest state of the driest continent).

It was so heavy I had to slow down well below the speed limit on a fairly busy highway, and I was concerned that other vehicles behind were not doing anything stupid (they weren't).

Peering in the rear view mirror I was surprised to see the rear wiper had already activated without my having to do it manually so I could clearly see behind.

Probably no news to you in wetter climates but I thought this was a typical thoughtful inclusion by VAG that I have not seen in other makes (auto wiper options excluded).

Just took a little less stress out of the situation.

It also will wipe off your wipers are on and you put the car in reverse. There's lots of clever things that you slowly keep learning about!
