Educating Lazybones on PID

Featured Replies

Well I stand corrected. It was posted 26th Jan and they tried to deliver it yesterday 29th even though it was FIRST class signed for.

The unit is a Garmin and brand new in box unopened. Plugged it into PC. Nothing. Turned it on. Came on for about 1 sec and then went off. I suspect it has no charge at all having been never switched on. What do we think? Plug into mains AC using USB plug or trickle using PC?

Ok took it to car and connected. It then asked me if it was a Citigo and then it all came on. A bit of a phaf connecting the bluetooth but it is all working. Cant believe the amount of information on outside temp etc it shows or was missing cause they want everybody to buy the unit.

Love that it shows radio information on artist and track etc.

Mine only showed the station's logo in that box after I updated it, so looks like it's also running pretty new software, bud! Awesome!

The PID is great, really good to have in the car. The bluetooth is occasionally sketchy, but that's at the limitations of bluetooth technology itself, and not the PID... Contrary to popular belief, bluetooth is not a replacement for wired connections :D

The sat-nav is really good too, runs slightly differently from the Tom-Tom I used to have in the i20, but it has a LOT more features that I like than I've done on previous sat-navs; for example telling me which house is my destination, on which side of the road. :)

Enjoy!

My son said it was a waste of money. Satnav is outdated. I explained all the other features but he just dismissed them. It is a commuting car for me after all. I have ordered a micro sd so I can put ALL of my itunes on there. Had a call while driving today on the iphone 5c. Worked really well.

Don't forget to turn on notifications in the Bluetooth part on your phone and you can receive texts as well [emoji106]

It's always useful to have a Sat-Nav in the car, just in case, and I've found that the sat-nav itself is pretty decent! Definitely not a waste of money. Allows music/pictures, bluetooth phone connectivity, call handling, reads texts and allows you to even store information on SD cards as well as monitoring OBC info. On a normal car, these optional extras would be worth at least 300-400!

It is a normal car and they do charge £300 if you get the SE ;)

I wad lucky to get one bnib for £100.

Just copied all my iTunes onto a 32gb card. Shoved it in the pid. I love very it. Brilliant.
