Fuelly setup

Featured Replies

I used fuelly a while ago, on my android phone and it worked well, as I recall I could enter mileage, litres and pence per litre on the forecourt as soon as I'd filled up. I've started using it again, but it's changed for thre worse. I notice tow things, firstly although I have selected UK profile, i.e. litres and mpg, the app is asking for gallons and price per gallon input. secondly, the conversion rate is not correct (1 gallon = 4.546 litres). When I have converted the litres used from the receipt into gallons, entered into the app, the summary on my dashboard shows a completely different number of litres! I could be having several blonde moments here, but I have double checked it. Any ideas what on earth is going on?

Yes it is a bit messed up, I have to re work the figures a little litres v gallons and the price then price per gallon from per litre, if you follow. Please tell me I'm doing it wrong.

Instead of using an app, just bookmark http://m.fuelly.com - iOS and Android friendly mobile site for Fuelly that will allow you to enter the info you need to on the forecourt in litres and pounds, without having to convert anything.

It's how I log all my fill-ups in Fuelly.

Seconded, use m.fuelly.com. Conversion is spot on and it's all in pounds and litres...

Thanks, I'll try that. The only way it works at the moment is to set to US units, thus avoiding a gallon / litre conversion. If set to UK units, I'm getting high 30s to the gallon, on US settings its 31 which I know is correct from doing the calculation manually.

I tried that (the mobile web page using Android chrome browser) it still asked for bloody gallons, and it's still massively over optimistic!!!!

Emailed the developers 3 days go, no response as yet. I'll give it a another couple of days, of no reply then it's into file13 thank you.

Same here really, still find it asking for gallons when I have my receipt in litres.

Sorry guys - don't have an answer for why that is happening, as it works just fine for me and most other users.

Suggest you ping the Fuelly guys with a bug report.

Done that Chris, see above...unimpressed I have to say, though it is free so can hardly moan.

Silly question but are all those with issues on android? Suspect that might be the problem somehow... post-112125-14216149528825_thumb.jpg

Exactly, a bit of patience is required - as you noted, it is a free service, so there is no SLA and you only pinged them three days ago. I'm sure someone will be in touch as and when they have time.

Also as per Girardi's post - are all of you having this problem using Android devices? If Android is the common platform between everyone having this issue, It could simply be Android browser-related, which isn't surprising as most Android browsers (inc the Android version of Chrome) are awful.

If it is an Android thing, this can be easily fixed with a hammer, a bucket and shovel, followed by a trip to an Apple Store :)

I'm not doing Android see the screenshot from the app. I'd understand the issue if it weren't for the fact that older versions of the app worked fine on this phone.

I'm afraid I'd rather chew my arm off than use apple devices. Wife has an ipad, I did have an iPhone 5s for work, I just prefer Android and windows PC.

I would suggest your Android browser is, for some reason, failing to hold and store the settings cookie. Have you done any weird settings stuff on your device, like not letting Fuelly see your location, or preventing sites from setting cookies?

Nope. Just hit the Accept button when installing it.

I think an uninstall and reinstall might help...otherwise I'll just do it all manually on my laptop when I get home.

Well, I've just logged onto the main site, on my Win8 lappy, and guess what...its wasking for gallons and £/gallon, and I'm in the UK settings.

I give up, I'm going back to a pen and an excel sheet, much more accurate.
