cornering speeds of different cars

Featured Replies

Completely agree.

You end up too committed on the limit.

Let's face it, anything could be around the corner.

I always leave abit in it, no matter what im in/on

Normally a speed camera van in my experience ;)

Or a sheep

Or a badger

Or a broken down car or something stupid.

Nout worse than tipping a bike into a corner to find the above haha.

I've not hit a badger or broken down car but sheep is very true

I've not hit any of the above, but I would of if i was pushing to the limit where changing line is very difficult/ impossible.

You're not Welsh if you haven't rolled a sheep over your bonnet. There, that'll get the sais talking :)

My dads done that.

Id best quiz him about the family routes

My buddy in blackwood has done it mire than once. Valleys sheep are a bit hard.

I assume in my scenario the stig is driving all the cars under test :D

Driver variability shouldn't come in to it. Just car characteristics.

There's a corner off the M5 to the A30 (link below) which is a 30 "advised" limit.  mongrel happily does 70 around it in the summer when its warm, car is warm and tyres are warm.  Is it safe?  Well, probably not.  Time and a place to be driving like that.  It might do 80 if I really kept on it.

Well the Roomster is ok on that one at about 55 but I don't think I'd want to push it too much further than that.  It is bog standard though, so I shouldn't expect too much.

Mind you, a good 1 litre Saxo would out corner anything!  (Or not, as the case may be).
