Hi,

I've just acquired a Felicia. In the past I have owned a Lada, Wartburg and Trabant, plus assorted rear engined Skodas through my children, so I'm not a  newcomer to East European cars.

This Felicia is intended as a hack car to use when there's too much salt on the road for my rather delicate 2CV. From what you've read so far you may well be thinking that I'll find the Felicia altogether too modern and luxurious, and you'll be right. Among other things I really wish it did not have power steering and a Germanic front end (it's an X reg car). It's only done 51,000 miles, but I'm not yet convinced I'll decide it's really worth bringing up to scratch.

Strangely, I now find myself wishing I'd repaired my daughter's Favorit after she wrecked its engine. Does anyone here think the Favorit could still be used as a practical car, to do, say 10,000 miles per year? Does anyone have a decent repairable Favorit to dispose of?

For the older Skodas, if I was you I would put a post in the relevant section. Here you will find all the Feli & Favo enthusiasts.
