Anyone got a vrs front drivers side subframe?

Featured Replies

My wishbone bolt has seized so gonna replace whole lot. Anyone got one going cheap? Thanks

You're probably best looking on e-bay for 'Fabia vrs breaking' and contacting the sellers to see if they have the part you need. I take it your attempting to replace the console bushes?

I have one, it also has the ball joint on it too. £15

Oh and its brand spanking new :)

Unlikely to have seized into console, the bolt usually seizes into steel sleeve in front wishbone bush, so as you unwind your actually pulling front bush out too.

Have done 3 like this now all drivers side, get some genuine plus gas in there, keep soaking it for a few days and it will come out as eventually the sleeve gives up and allows bolt out on its own.

Sorry but it's not unlikely. Steel bolt into alloy console causes seizing due to dissimilar metals. Very common problem.

Thanks for the help guys, tried again to remove it again today, solid. Gonna buy a subframe from ebay and just replace the lot. Will remove the bolt at a bench in work if i can and ill stick it up for sale cheap to help someone else out.

A minor problem you may not have considered is that the bolt goes through the main subframe, then the wishbone front bush, then into the threaded hole of the console.

With it seized into the console, you can't even remove the wishbone/console combo without first either cutting or snapping that bolt, to free it from the main subframe.

I went for the snapping approach, and was frankly amazed at how strong those bolts are. Be careful if you have the car on stands or whatever, the torque you'll need to shear the bolt off will be moving the car around.

How did you do it? Scaffold pole over the end of a breaker bar? :D

Yeah, pretty much. I'm not skinny either. :D
