Front bumper fitting

Featured Replies

I need my front bumper re-sprayed badly, as there's lots of paint flaked off. However, I'm not at all happy with the fitment of it. More specifically where it attaches at the side. The bumper now sags down nearest the side of the headlight.

I'm aware it's a common problem, but has anyone managed to fix it? Or is it wear to the standard plastic brackets built into the bumper? I want it to sit correctly, especially if I'm paying to get it re-sprayed!

Cheers :)

Could you elongate bumper plastic mount holes on the front wing and raise mount slightly?

I'm not sure if it will fit in then or not. I haven't had a proper mooch at it yet to be honest.

Just wondering if anyone's managed to fix it before I have a look! :)

Nor do I, if nobody has answered by the end of the week I'll play about with my bumper and mounts to see

You sir are a legend    :)

Why when I first read this did I think he wanted some who wasn't food to re spray his bumper.

check the clips on the bumper ain't snapped m8

Some type of support on the bottom helps alot :)

Sure we spoke about it, but might have been Dan,lift the centre of your bumper slightly and look how much better they sit on the wing brackets ;)

Yeah it was us that was talking about it when i was machine polishing your car.

That corner of the bumper must be under a large amount of stress, as the weight of the bumper puts it all on there.

Not sure what we could come up with to get it sitting properly. Something that's practical and easy to do...  :nerd:

Could be the mounting bracket attached to the wing which has got damaged.  Not expensive to replace.

I'm going to have a mooch at them next time the bumper is off. I'm hoping it's something as simple as that. Things are never usually that easy though!!

The bracket on wing is stronger than the bumper, if anything is damaged it will be the bumper from what I've seen :(

At the end of the day they are not designed to be taken off and on, and certainly skoda would not have thought about the centre mounts being chopped off to fit big coolers!!! :)
