Featured Replies

Tried "Recalls" in search and it didn't come back with these , so many apologies if all you guys 'n' gals now about them!!!

31/3/2003: VINS TMB***1U*32665031 to TNB***1U*32675256 and TNB***1U*38665036 to TMB***1U*38667146 rear window wiper may loosen during high speed driving causing it to break off. Replace wiper arm and blade.

26/3/2003: VINS TMB***1U*X2148718 to TMB***1U*X22227663 and TMB***1UY2285279 to TMB***1UY2294866: Due to a manufacturing fault, tension cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo in the area of the pipe connections. If a vacuum pipe leaks the brake servo loses its function requiring a lot more force on the brake pedal to stop. Check vacuum pipes and replace if necessary.

That's attention to detail.......the second recall dated 26/3/03 for brake vacuum -- has just been applied to all Audi A3 models as well -- nearly 6 months late !!!

The second recall is a 'sticky' at the top of the General forum. I think that a couple of members discovered that their cars had not been recalled when they should have been. The first recall looked like a spoof when a member posted details (April 1st?) but of course it turned out to be true! There's no reason at all why details shouldn't be posted again as now for the benefit of newer members. :)

Not really Skodaw - just go here

The first one - as Denis said - was assumed to be an april fool stunt, but is totally true.

JaneC received one, and fairly recently had our local dealer do the work...
