Mmmm new rubber

Featured Replies

Mmm got some shiny new rubber on the car this morning.

2x Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance.

No money for 4x winters.

Nice and quiet again, hopefully will see similar mpg gains to what I got with these tyres on the VRS.

Fitted by local mobile tyre fitter - http://www.rapidtyreservices.co.uk/

Happy to recommend, £4 a tyre dearer than BlackCircles but I got to sit in my own house while it was done.

Chap was prompt to get back to me with a quote and turned up on time after phoning me first to check I was in.

Didn't even mind me calling him Gary despite his name being Guy.

I hope the tread isn't too shiny - that would reduce the grip!

Good Year - excellent choice in my somewhat biased opinion.

Had them before and was impressed.

Fitter also commented "you've done your research to pick them, bloody good tyres".

Don't think they're too shiny. Didn't feel teh need to sandpaper them like I used to do with new motorbike rubber

What sort of mpg improvement did you get on your VRS?

About 3mpg in most conditions over the previous Maxxis MAZ1. that was going from an F rated tyre to A so probably as big as jump as possible.

The main benefit with the GYs is that they are very quiet. The mpg was a side benefit.

Lots of folk on here got them now, haven't read a bad word. Don't know the longevity that's the only question.

My new Winters are on just in time for when needs must

& @ £72 a corner they are Cheapos but performing as good as ones i have had at more than double the price.

My normal Wet Weather Winter Tyres are also cheapos but with nice strong sidewalls as the Pot Holes are opening up something terrible.
