Hi from a new vrs owner!

Featured Replies

Just to say hello from a happy new vrs owner, picked up 2012 2.0 tsi last week and loving it! Got a few questions to ask, sorry... may sound daft but looking through the hand book the specification as in whats fitted as std isn't at all clear, I knew it hadn't not got bluetooth or the nice little buttons on the wheel or the menu thing (maxidot?) However some things I assumed would be on aren't, 'hill holder' thing being one? so how do you check whats std fitment? Could do with a coppy of a brochure, that would be a help!

Hill Hold was never standard on a Mk2 vRS - in fact I don't think it was ever even an option. The L&K however does have this feature.

I've managed to find an old brochure online - came into effect in June 2011, so should more or less be correct for your car:

Oh and welcome!

Thanks fot the quick and helpful reply, and the link to the brochure was very useful showing whats fitted as standard etc, (mine must be in the later edition though as its colour/trim isn't shown as an option) just found a later edition on the web dated feb 12 so will order that one to see whats altered on the last mk11 versions.

hello and welcome. mine's a 2012. hill hold wasn't standard or an option either at that time.

The most popular options on the vRS:

Front and/or rear parking sensors.

Maxidot.

Columbus Sat Nav.

Auto headlights.

Auto wipers.

Auto dimming rear view mirror.

Xenon headlights.

Leather seats.

Heated front seats.

Sunroof.

I was going to say that on a 2012 yours might be a Blackline, does it have black alloy wheels? But the Blackline was only ever available as a diesel so this rules that out!

Hill hold was never available as an option on the vRS, however on some later models the ABS pump had the feature that allowed it to be enabled using VCDS.

Thanks again for the replies, yes its got the black wheels and black genuine fake carbon fiber trim with all black interior so could it be a "ltd edition Blackline"? (Insurance called it a ltd edition) Were they avalable with petrol power? What ever it looks the business in stunning Rally green the black wheels really set it off, must admit looked naff in photos, but absolutly lovely in the flesh!

I thought the Blackline was diesel only?

Welcome to the wonderful world of the TSi VRS.  Tomorrow I will have had mine a year and have never had a day that I regretted buying it.  You will find this forum to be the source of much useful information. :)
