Well that's first year over with wife's car and just had first free service. Dealer picked car up, explained about not cleaning it ( very fussy about how paint is looked after). Told them about clicking clutch pedal and 5 hours later returned with service done and a new clutch pedal fitted. Clicking now gone and we'll impressed with skoda service. I really think when my passat is due for changing in summer I'll be leaving vw and coming to skoda too.

Why leave VW for another VW

Skoda is skoda, not VW. At least it is to me, and I'm kinda proud of it. Ofcourse VW lend helping hand and knowledge, which is good. ;-)

Skoda have own part numbers actually. At least for some parts. Usually parts for Skoda are cheaper than for VW. Arm rest for example.

If you take engine out, it will always be engine from Skoda.

Skoda may well be part of the VAG empire, but their dealers always perform way better than VW in customer service surveys (Which? and JDPower, to name just two)

Our Citigo is due for its 2nd service soon and our clutch pedal started creaking when pressed a few months ago. Could this be the dreaded clutch click?

Considering it shares the floor pan, engine, drive train, suspension, braking, electronic and electrical system, you can't say it is a completely different car.

Its a VAG car assembled in the Czech Republic rather than Germany.

It also shares a number of components with Ford, jaguar, Volvo etc.
