Air con pipe fastening - does this look right?

Featured Replies

Just notice air con related metallic pipe ( think that's what it is?) has plastic clip that doesn't close over it completely. I gave a weak effort to see if it closed over it but it felt flimsy and I didn't want to snap it or break as its under warranty anyway.

The dealership did some work re-routing the AC pipes due to TPI related to them rattling against chassis.

Simple answer, no. The clip should be locked over the pipe

+1 Checked under my bonnet, similar clip and pipe, clip shut.

Thanks - I'm guessing the clip is fixed like not supposed to be open and shut?

Maybe that's the bodge to cure the ac pipe rattle or maybe it's just a bodge.

Looks like the pipe has been lifted and clip left open deliberately to avoid contact with the lip beneath it. A more effective fix (if this was the cause of the rattle) would have been to wrap the affected pipe area in rubber insulation, or grind down the lip.
