Skoda VRS TDI 2010 DPF removal and remap DSG

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am new here and have just purchased a Skoda VRS TDI 2010 (type 111? maybe?)

I have read posts on DPF removal and remapping, but none on my vehicle.

So can this be done on my version of the VRS and if so has anyone got any details of how things work and the difference these options give.

Also if the DSG remap is an option can the sport mode be tweaked and the standard selection remain for better MPG. In other words more response from sport mode selected offering the choice at a flick of the wrist.

DPF removal can cause a bit of a stir on here. You'll get the forum police telling you that it's illegal, the car will instantly fail it's MOT and that you are killing their kids with the extra emissions.

Your Octavia is a MkII and has the CR (Common Rail) engine. The DPF is much improved on the CR engine, the older PD was an absolute nightmare.

If the DPF is working fine I'd be tempted to leave well alone and just go for a map.

Try Shark (forum sponsor), they have a very good reputation...

Just seen that it's your first post, welcome to Briskoda by the way  :sun:

Just get a remap. Don't worry about the dpf unless it actually starts causing you issues

The disadvantages of DPF removal are all valid points by the way and should always be put forward to form a balanced view on whether to do it or not , but they just get a little repetitive from time to time.

More often than not the ensuing arguing debate then tends to get in the way of the original question.

Does anyone have any instructions to remove one of the sensors for the dpf?

Don't really want to remove the dpf entirely if I can get it cleaned out. Any help much appreciated!

Thanks

When you have the dpf delete done you alter the cars ecu so that it no longer looks for these sensors, the sensors are not physically removed , if you remove the sensors from a car with a working dpf , then it will not be able to regenerate .

Hi rich,

Thanks for the reply

I'm just wanting to remove the sensor temporarily use dpf cleaner from wurths then put the sensor back.

.... Then force regeneration. I don't want to remove the dpf if I don't have too
