Fabia VRS aerial lead, changing to dab

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Goignt o be removing my aerial mast and base and installing a new dab/fm aerial.

Amplified will not be needed so will be running new cables all way from aerial to head unit.

Anyone done this? Got a guide? tips?

Where does the previous cable run please? Maybe I can disconnect both ends and tie string to one and pull it through?

Matt

I just have a screen mounted DAB because i was planning on smoothing the roof - but im tempted to do a roof DAB to stop there being the occasional drop outs.

As for pulling it through, i would imagine itd be up the A pillar?

I don't fancy your chances of pulling it through. I extracted the cable from my dead Felicia recently and it went round some very tight corners and snagged on lots of bits even when I removed the cladding from the roof and pillar and helped it along.

Why can't you use the same cable?

I use a windscreen sticky one too, which has only ever failed me when deep in six finger territory.

The DAB coverage in Cornwall isn't the best so thats why I've gone full bore with the roof aerial, can see it being fun and games lol
