Heaters not functioning properly

Featured Replies

Seem to be having a problem with my heaters lately, blowing to the windscreen and the feet work but not as good as they should be.

The main problem is that when I try to put the heater setting to blow out from the front main 4 vents no heat is being blown out.

Anyone had a similar problem or know off a potential fix to this issue.

Thanks

Just to check, you do have the vents open right? Under each individual vent is a wheel that opens/ closes the front vents

Yep they're all open correctly and I just checked, on any option I select it still continues to blow out of the windscreen and the feet vents ONLY

Sounds like the mechanism that moves the air when you turn the switch isn't working properly?

When i turn my switches i can hear the whole mechanism in the head unit moving and changing the air flow, can you hear yours? If not then maybe that's the problem?

No I cant hear anything do you reckon I should remove it and have a look ?

Hm i don't know, if it doesn't make a noise within the actual unit when you turn the knob then maybe there's something wrong with the connection as it's not changing the direction of the air

I'm guessing you're not under warranty still?

Oh okay, if you know how to take the whole unit off then it's up to you, good luck with it and hope you fix the issue

Haven't got a clue how to remove the unit...

This would have been a good use of a Haynes manual. I've dismantled most of my previous car's dashboards using one, in order to fix the heater controls or backlighting.

I would have thought the Fabia mk2 had been around long enough now to warrant one.
