Rear Parking Sensor malfunction.

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have only had my 2012 VRS Blackline for just under two weeks and tonight the rear parking sensors developed a fault. When I put it in reverse, it is trying to tell me that there is something up to the right hand corner of the car. Full bars on screen including red bar and constant solid buzzer. I have cleaned the sensors as I wondered if the sleet or hail was affecting them but its still doing it.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on the cause of the problem.

Thanks

Known problem on the blackline, they appear to retain the water in them,I always had to put tissue over them after washing the car to absorb the moisture.

So should be ok once they dry out ?

it does on my car too :-D There is no object in the way and Parking Assistance screams like mad.

yes, it only takes a bit of water trapped between the sensor and the outer case. First time it happened to me was parked on the Mil's steep drive in cornwall with the front at the lower end. A wipe with some kitchen roll will sort it.
