My wife and I drive Skoda Yeti 1.2L Elegance. From the start I Was impressed by this car and indeed still am. For a 1.2Litre it pulls very well with a comfortable quiet ride.

Rather dishartened recently as a problem has manifested itself. Started as the windscreen wipers could not be set to an intermittent wipe, it wipes but the time period could not be set. Next occurance was that the amber Airbag warning remains Illuminated, and neither the horn or any of the multipurpose switches on the steering wheel have function. It is as if a plug has become disconnected.

However a visit to my local garage has discovered that to overcome this  problem a software upgrade needs to be provided by Skoda to my garage who will download to the system. Upgrade yet to be received.

If an upgrade is required to fix a fault that is clearly in the system already and has not been found before Skoda issued the present software/Firmware who is liable to pay for the rectification. My local garage will no doubt charge me for the investigation and correction of the inherent problem.

A bit annoying as this glitch leaves me at risk, as I doubt the airbags would work in an accident. I feel at risk and will indeed contact Skoda for their comments.

Hi and welcome to the forums. I'd speak to your closest Skoda dealer. Depending on how old your Yeti is, it could be covered under warranty or be a recall. I don't know the model that well but you can always post in the Yeti section as I'm sure someone there will have come across this before and can advise you.
