Passed NCT

Featured Replies

I dunno what its called in UK but its what have to test the cars for roadworthyness every 2 years after its 4 years old.

Btw I was a bit concerned about one of the tests and the front bumper, the guy said you need >110mm. The RS was just over it and mines standard.

He is taking the preverbial. Its a factory built front bumper, and the NCT has nothing in it that dictates the height of the car. If it had failed on that account I think a court case would have followed backed almost certainly by Skoda Ireland.

FYI - NCT is the equivalent of the MOT

The car passed and for that -

:woohoo: :D

He wasn't getting onto me, from taking the sisters car there before I was afraid that the front bumper would hit during one of the tests (the braking one). The car drops into these rollers and the front bumper is VERY close to hitting (I reakon if they drove in far enough it would touch). I spoke to the Lead guy and he told me the clearance at the front had to be greater than 110mm, the RS as standard was nearly bang on.

I just wanted to let everyone else know who has theres lower than standard, as it could be too late on the day :) (Although ye boys have a lot of catching up to require an NCT :D )

Nice one but Bloddy Hell 2 YEARS between tests! . Well I suppose it's better than no testing at all like it used to be. No more smokey Corollas with 350k on clock and knackered suspension floating about Irish roads anymore then.

Yea, it took some serious junkers off our roads. 2 years is a little frequent but I suppose it makes people keep the cars up to scratch.
