Remove Wiper Track Marks from Glass

Featured Replies

Hard to describe what I'm talking about, but when the rear glass is clean, and is then wetted, you can see the area that is covered by the blade.  I'm assuming this is actually an etching in the glass from the years of wear from the wiper blade.  Is there a way to polish this out?

Thanks!

There are glass polishing kits..but its very hard work..even with a polisher

TBH..All cars get these..

Have a ceride oxide (I think that's what it is called) kit for my rotary and I successfully removed an arc of scratches on my Dad's missus' Audi A3 left from a bad wiper blade - It took some time, and speeds used were double that I would use on paint.  I also had to keep stopping to check for build up of heat as the act of "cutting" glass does generate some serious temps. (i.e risking cracking the glass)

My god - I started doing that windscreen last Autumn and think I would still be there now if trying to do it by hand :D

I had my EP801 on speed 5 out of 6 and it was going at a serious lick. :D

Totally agree, you'd only really give the glass a good cleanse with that kit prior to coatings.

I have used it to remove what appeared to be some factory fall out by hand. I suppose no one can really say without seeing how bad the damage is.

I used Ceriglass over the week end on the front and rear screens, it's very effective at removing wiperblade scratches and even deeper scratches if you take your time.

I used it with a Rayon pad  with a DAS6 pro and was amazed how easy it was once you get to grips with it. I'll post pictures and do qa mini guide after the weekend if I get a chance.
