Hi all,

 

Normal boot: close the boot, latch catches and locks. Boot doesn't rattle if you try and lift it.

 

My boot: close the boot, latch doesn't catch/lock. Can lift it right up again. Close again and again, sometimes it will latch. Sometimes I have to press the rubber button to open the boot a couple times and it will latch when I close it a few more times. EVEN THEN, it will be loose and will lift a centimetre, but is still latched, i.e. it rattles if I go over a speed bump, and the "door open" dashboard light is often/always on. If I push down hard on the boot when it's in this loose position, it'll go lock properly. Even then, the "door open" dashboard light will sometimes be on.

 

QUESTION: Will buying another latch solve the problem? Hopefully my description hints at where the problem might lie :-/
