Fabia VRS Intercooler

Featured Replies

hello,

Looking for a bit of help here, basically about three months ago my turbo died so I had it reconditioned and bought a new Intercooler, this one http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Skoda_Fabia_1.9_2007/p/car-parts/car-cooling-parts-and-car-heating/cooling/intercooler/?229440380&1&e08e61eac20e184d41bf02a49cdbb4454d01f5d6&000207. Now that new Intercooler has cracked, after only three months, and needs replaced. Any recommendations on what to get? Just looking for a SMIC, I can't find a part number for a OEM part and I don't think dark side developments do one for the fabia VRS that isn't a FMIC. Should I just get another one of the above and hope for better luck this time?

Thanks in advance

Id send it back tatnd demand another under warranty mate!!

Even if you decide to upgrade youll have a new standard one to sell on and recoup some costs buddy

Agree, warranty. Even if you still don't want it, sell the new replacement intercooler on.

Thanks for your replies, yeah i'm definitely going to demand a warranty on it but I need to get the car back on the road ASAP and was wondering what intercooler you boys would recommend?

Cheers for your help

Thought darkside did an updated smic? I know I've found one before using my reliable friend. Google.

Nope, only for MK4 chassis. Outlets and mounting lugs are wrong for us.

ahh I see now. never looked into too much detail at the time, saw ASZ and remembered it.

A lot of the vag smic all look the same but have different size inlets/outlets and at different angles. Some of them have the clip in type like the fabia as others go around the outside with a jubilee type fitment.
