To activate the rearview camera on my MY2015 vRS, I have to put the gear into reverse, as I never specced the front parking sensors (in that case, I would have been able to activate by the click of a button). Now, many times I use the camera after I have parked the car, to see if I am inside the parking spot. To do this I put the gear into reverse, but often the engine has already stopped automatically and restarts when I put into reverse. I would like the option to start the camera when I choose to by either installing a button next to the gearbox or by some shortcut in the infotainment system or a steering wheel button. Does anyone know if this is possible by some VCDS coding and how I should go about?

Resurrecting an old thread here but worth a go... did anyone ever get anywhere with this? I agree with kristian there are times when viewing the ear view camera would be useful. Any suggestions? Thanks

Pushing the front pdc buttons doesn’t activate the rear view camera as far as I know.
