Eibach or H&R springs

Featured Replies

I've seen a few threads on suspension and noticed a few people have their cars on Eibach or H&R springs.

So my question is, apart from the difference in price and the fact that the H&R springs lower by 5mm more.. Is there any difference between the two?

a mate had h+r springs and said they were too hard and the ride was unbearable so imo id have the eibachs

I've got used to mine (H&R), but have to admit they are a tad on the low side but then if that's also the preferred look over comfort then go for them.

Personally I think I might have gone Eibachs given the chance to choose again, but got these were at a steal at £120 ish new when the group thing was on.

I also think the lower centre of gravity really helps with cornering also, its damn stable on corners compared to the OEM springs and will be better than Eibach due to that !

So I live with any discomfort etc.

It was bloody awful when I first changed them but that was due to a knocking on the bump stop the wrong way around which I didn't leave like that for long. Not unbearably bad IMO just a bit bouncy on really bad roads as there isn't enough travel to actually absorb the bumps!

I had the Eibachs springs fitted before my coilovers, they were very good and suited the OEM dampers very well, they were just the right amount of stiffness not too hard at all, handling was much improved, not as much body roll and a good bit of compliance still for the poor roads.

They just werent low enough for the look I was trying to achieve.

If you do go for Eibachs be sure to chop the rear bump stops down a bit or fit shorter Ibiza Cupra items. HTH

Cheers for the replies guys.. I've made the decision and just purchased some Eibachs from DPM Performance.. I'll also take note of the rear bump stops as mentioned
