Hi guys, my electric windows have stopped working, I have checked fuses, wires etc no joy, I am going to buy a new electric window motor but want to make sure I get the right part no, any way of finding this out as I have read of guys buying parts from ebay and not being right for their car. Cheers

ring you local dealer, give them the reg, ask them to provide part number. alternatively, ring skodaparts (bickertons) as they run the website they used to giving them out. That's what I did anyway.

What year is your car, and which side isn't working? Both sides?

 

I got quoted 6Y2959802 SK4 for a driver's side module for a 2005 car a few weeks back, but the Skoda price tag  (£150+ IIRC) was enough to put me off buying one until I was more confident that it was at fault. This part number superceded some other version only about 7 or 8 months ago, apparently. 

 

A good decision as it turned out.  A few hours drying out the car's interior with a decent dehumidifier (-1.5L approx.) and everything started working normally again.  Coincidentally, the battery died the same weekend as this, so that may have been contributing to misbehaviour/intermittent operation, but I have my doubts.

Oh and then use that part no. To search eBay etc unless you wanna buy new of course.
