GENUINE CENTRE ARMREST MK1 Fabia

Featured Replies

It does take a fair bit of tinkering doesn't it! I've finished my first bracket off, making another 3 to sell on with the surplus. Nearly done, just a couple more holes and smoothing on the smaller brackets needed then done. Don't think it's something I'll be making a habit of.

Brackets like the one in this thread so that you can mount the armrest properly?

If so I'd be very interested in one. Save me the hassle of having to fabricate one from scratch.

  • Just to throw a spanner in the works... But there was a genuine mk1 Fabia arm rest available in Czech. It is essentially the mk4 Golf rest but with a different mount.

  • Part number is DAO 409 001   Best of luck in finding one   http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/103421-oem-armrest-dao-409-001/   Fabia Armrest.pdf SkodaFabia_Accessories_en.pdf

  • There's no such thing. It's from a MK4 Golf.

What holds that in place?

its designed in the same way as the official part - has a base plate that slots perfectly into the awkward cup holder at the bottom of the handbrake and then the rest is screwed into that baseplate with a couple of self tappers (although the screws provided were way too wide so i used my own.

there's the option of screwing the base plate into the cup holder with some more self tappers but ive not done that so that I can easily remove the armrest when i need to -  and its still nice and secure without it.

I can post some pics if needed.

The official part bolts to the body/floorpan of the car... So this is held in place by the plastic cup holder and not much else?

was just going off another thread I saw on here where it shows the skoda part slotted into the cup holder.

yeah like I said mines not screwed in and its perfectly secure when using it or raising/lowering it. theres holes in the bottom to screw it into the cupholder should you want to.

Not genuine skoda if it slots in, the genuine one is posted above with the bracket that bolts to the floor - along side the diy version
