Hi, i recently joined the site as it certainly looks like an active good one for VAG cars. After modding my Vectra C as it was cheaper than buying an estate VRS d or a passat sport estate ive found alot of things can be easily added but need programming.

Unfortunalty it seems theres no cheap quick progamming tool like opcom for the vx.

I want to PM some members here who have or might have the VCRD tool as i want to mod my mates Passat ie install footwell lights and the door puddle lights but like my Vectra these need activating.

 

Unfortunately you cannot send PMs until you have made a minimum number of posts, but I do not know how many that is at present. As a VCDS owner I would say that the help you are seeking falls outside the raison d'etre of this service offered by and to Briskoda members. I suggest that you ask for help on a Passat owners forum.

Thanks, i was hoping that like tech 2 or opcom for vauxhall the VCDS would cater for most models that use the system as on a passt forum VCDS was mentioned and of course it comes up with all vag info which is what led me to this site.

The reason i posted here was becuase any passat or even audi forums i have come accross don't aprear to be as well used or with this kind of information on it. The chat going on hear and the helpfuness seems alot better than the ones i have searched.

I'll move this into the VCDS section as it's not actually a website issue.

Anyone with VCDS can code in the items you want to fit (irrespective of whether this is a Skoda forum or not, the kit and technique are entirely the same), so all you need is someone local to you with the required cable and laptop, and has half an idea what to do (or use Google).

 

Top of this forum section is a sticky post called VCDS Owners Map. That should point you to someone in your area who will probably be able to help. I can't as I'm miles away from you but I would if I could.

 

Failing that, any other VAG forum will usually have the same set up and you can locate friendly helpful local users to do what you wish for a few beers or suchlike.

Also be aware this site will only help you out if you buy a genuine VCDS kit. The Ebay £20.00 kits are not what people want to see on here as this does not help the development of the original tool and software.

VCDS is a multi platform tool and will work just as well on any of the VAG models.
