Loving my car again !

Featured Replies

Thanks guys, the gearbox tweak was really worth it.

Cars silky smooth all round now and I'm hoping to keep the car for at least another year ( in fact might keep indefinitely) well I'm waiting until the new shape vRS come really down in money (used) and then I want one!

I think my next jobs might be; (and I recommend every one has one of these to tackle on their cars as I bet it will help keep the love strong)

1) Recaros off the car in summer and give a thorough clean are refurbish even more.

Metal frames aren't ever so well held so as I now have a Aldi stick welder I was planning to have a go at welding the bars into place so they are properly firm! (these are the ones you have to cut off the Golf frames as there aren't any on the Fabia as its part of the seat foam).

Might also sort out the heated seats aspect to them sorted also at this time.

2) Got a 12v usb on order for the ignition live for my DAB; haven't received it yet but want to sort this out so I don't need to plug it in anymore! This one I want to sort sooner rather than later!

3) On a minor minor point the suspension can be every so slightly noisy on extreme bumps etc ever so slightly creaky.

(I think it might be the rear). Might get this looked into.

4) Also need to take my 17s spiders off for a good old refurb and also want to spray my standard 16s in anthacite so they won't look so bad put back on the car !

5) Want to polish and restore my paintwork to remove all swirls and marks etc. Its pretty tidy but want to really get the most from it.

6) Then potentially next year I could spend more money on the car for clutch/new turbo and remap ! (got some money freed up next year so this is a real possibility although unfortunately this also brings the temptation of the new shape octy vRS too!).

I was thinking about getting a new car before the summer but i've fallen in love with the Fabia again, think i'll keep it for a good few years yet, got a few plans for it but nothing major, just maintaining it and keeping it looking good.

I've not driven my Fabia since September and can't wait to get behind the wheel of it next month!
