I placed an additional in-line 1amp fuse as I ran wires to/from battery.

Also placed toggle switch between battery live and charger for when not in use.

I can run my TomTom satnav (Traffic Receiver cable) when required and/or dash camera from same cable. 

 

The actual finished job was more tidy, but just to give the general concept what was done.
