Airbag woes?

Featured Replies

So started the car tonight, and noticed the airbag light wont go off, stays on whilst i drive, only thing i did recently is clean the inside of the car.. and it was fine straight after that.

im guessing an airbag sensor issue or something?

any help much appreceated as usual :)

Paul.

Could be the airbag harness under the seat, the plug may have dislodged a little.

I had a Renault Clio a few years ago which developed the same fault, light stayed on all the time, just cable tied the plug and connector to the underside of the seat and the light never came on again, that was a common Clio problem.

Will have to check the wiring underneath the seat tomorrow when i can see better :).

Thanks for the advice!

So i decided to go check in the dark anyway lol, found that the plugs are ok so i have no idea, other than my old man mentioned the car might have belt pre-tensioners so ill have to go have another look tomorrow incase these are monitored as part of the system?

ugh. well at least my car is due a service anyway so i can take it to skoda and hopefully get the service / service spanner / airbag done at the same time.

Even if you identify and fix the fault, the airbag light will remain on until cleared by a diagnostic tool (VCDS, Dealer etc.).

Aye I guessed as much. Being a safety issue it's no surprise really! So skoda Northampton here I come :p. Think I'll get charged extra for clearing the airbag fault on vcds?
