Door handles

Featured Replies

Am I the only one who gets annoyed at the lack of effort companies put into door handles?

Just look at the new superb, all harsh lines, then they just whack the same door handles they've been using for 20 years on it.

My 10 year old Audi had flush handles, companies like Alfa or TVR put effort in, why doesn't anybody else?

If Pimp my Ride can remove door locks, why can't VAG?

I like the handles on the back doors of the Seat Leon, you know, the ones in the windows. They are hidden from view, sort of, and t's quirky. And yes, the handles they seam to use nowadays are from many moons ago and need a revamp to say the least.

Vag know perfectly well how to remove door locks

They daren't remove them in case the key fobs fail or you need the key for some other reason

Audi as the premium brand will always get the posh stuff, we're still technically 'in the cheap seats'

To be fair, keyless entry is on soo many cars these days, so most of the technology is available in cars. Hide a mechanical lock on the drivers door for emergencies, and problem solved.

Role that out onto Audis now, then roll it down the food chain.

And as a bonus it should be a tiny bit more fuel economy.

Or but a servo and remove the handles yourself is not to hard havnt done this on my vrs YET but my mk2 has post-123262-14245947879831_thumb.jpgpost-123262-14245948096111_thumb.jpg

Exactly that the fob is the alarm/ door opener drivers only have to open passenger front inside its all good untill battery dies in fob [emoji20]

They all seem to grab whatever is in the parts bin tbh. I was quite surprised when a girl at work picked up her nice shiny new Fiat 500 and the door handles were the ones off the Alfa 156 from about 1998.

Oh no, you can't say that. That's "retro"
