buying a new vrs has me sh****g it.

I would go ahead and buy it, and enjoy it.

We had the worst start to the ownership experience having to go through the engine replacement under warranty, ours is 2012 CAVE engined, but since the engine change it hasn't used a drop in 5600 miles and is a cracking wee car to drive, very practical for our needs as well. Despite our initial problems I would still do it again.

As for pace, although it's not going to hunt down Focus RS or Golf R, it will embarrass many others that can't see past Skoda badge. Standard CTHE engines run on only Tesco Momentum have seen results over 193bhp on the RR, which is quite a bit more than the manufacturer minimum figure of 178. Also has more torque than Renaultsport Clio 200, so would be a good match up in straight line test. With a couple of mods (lowered suspension, RARB and lower engine mount) the car would handle much better as well, there are owners on here that have done this and much more and I hope they come on and give you the thumbs up on owning and driving one.
