Vrs foglight

Featured Replies

anyone got an image on the mk2 VRS foglight and how it fits to the bumper? i took a punt on a pair of 2001 beetle foglights as they look identical to the part pics i can find on ebay and share the same part number but when offering up to the bumper i cant see how they sit or go in, they have 3 screws im guessing for mounting but the bumper doesnt have anything

any help would be great thanks

Dan

They go in from behind. Had to change my passenger side a couple weeks ago. ****ing nightmare. My advice is to remove the bumper!

There are two different types of fog light for the vRS.

One for the pre-FL model and a slightly different version for the facelift (FL).

It looks to me as though you have the correct fog light (pre-FL).

There are three screws that attach the fog light housing to the bumper (arrowed)...

Looking at your bumper I wonder if there is an additional part that is missing, something that clips to the back of the bumper which the three fog light screws then screw into?

This is the facelift vRS front bumper, you can clearly see the screw holes where the fog light would attach to...

The Scout uses the same front fog lights are the pre-FL vRS, it looks as though it too lacks the mounting points...

Hmm so it would seem there is some form of mounting which i am missing, i have gone on and fitted the bumper with only the 3 top torx screws and one in each inner wing for now while i look into it, i suppose i best pop down to TPS and see what they say and how much they want to charge me for what i need.

Thanks for the help so far and i welcome any more suggestions :-)

Ive just managed to find a english online parts catalogue which has determined im missing foglight mountings for certain! Part numbers 1Z0807055 and 1Z0807056

Part number 6

Oh well should have it all fitted and sorted for weekend (bar the wiring)

Just in case anyone else gets to this point and wants to know the price the mountings are £7 each from TPS

I managed to change the passenger side by removing the wheel but much easier to remove the bumper when it comes to the drivers side

As you have worked out it looks like the mounting is missing but it is only 3 torx screws holding the unit in place and it goes in from behind.

Glad the mounting brackets aren't too pricey

Changing the subject slightly what's the correct bulbs for the VRS fog lights??

H1 is printed on my foglights

That on a vrs ?

  • Author

Thats on a vrs foglight yes

vrs is definetly H1, different to what you manual will say though as it quotes the non vrs bulb which appears to be H8
