H&R Lowering Springs - Anyone using or used before? Reviews?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone's using or previously used H&R lowering springs on their Octy?

Just bought some to do away with my coilovers and go back to standard dampers and would like reviews?

We put the H&R -50mm cup kit on our VRS. Actually lowered it around 20mm. Drives fine. Much better than standard. We also had a White line RARB installed so there is very little body roll now.

Is it still quite comfortable? Not overly bouncy unlike coilovers? I can't remember what I bought from Awesome, they're either 45-50mm or 55mm. Just waiting to get them put on.

I've had three coilover setups on mk2 octavias - none of them were bouncy.

If you car is bouncy on coilovers, then either;

- you've bought cheap **** coilovers.  solution; buy better quailty next time.

- you're running them too low so the car is actually riding on the bump stops.  solution; wind them up.

hth.

I admit (and regret) that I am currently running cheap and wish I'd never. :peek:

My mate run Pro-Sport Coilovers on his Fabia vRS and recommended them, especially for the price. He said they were a bit bouncy, but when I'd been in the Fabia it wasn't too bad - maybe being shorter wheelbase?

Anyways, I've decided to return to the standard vRS dampers and put the H&R springs on, bring back some comfort but less bounce! Good idea???

Are u sellin your coilovers , and have u any pics of car on the new springs thinking of buying but not sure what to buy for the best

I don't think I'd want to put anyone through it, but I'll maybe post them on here when I've taken them off.

Only got photos of it on coilovers (below). I will post some new ones once the springs are fitted.

Dont wana worry ya mate but springs on standard shocks might be as bad as your coilovers! I was trying to cost cut and got some springs only and it was really bouncy so i upgraded my shocks as well and its now a different car! Looks the part and is really smooth and comfy. Better then standard. I would never go down standard shock/lowered spring combo again!

If it's bad I'll just upgrade the shocks to the H&R cup ones. Definitely can't be as bad as the coilovers I've got now.

Still very comfy. Cruises along fine. Just need to go easy over speed bumps.

Excellent! I'm use to scrapes and holding traffic up around speedbumps! [emoji57]
