I was just dissapointed with the Honda though. Very very solid but that's easy to do when the storage is poor and the extras are minimal. It just seemed that there was no system in common with the controls like CANBUS. Everything worked individually and things like auto wipers, their version of light assist and even parking sensors were controlled by little plastic boxes behind the dash that did their own thing but in the process didn't integrate well into the car. Also, no trip computer on a 19k motor and no easy option for it either. You can't get the doors to autolock and call me picky but I like my timing belt to have a cover.

The OctyII isn't perfect but lets face it it's trying to be all things to all men and doing a pretty good job for the money IMO. My major annoyance is the front speaker positioning next to the seat.

I agree with you on the ESP torque thing though but I think the DSG makes up for it in other ways. It must do because max economy is acheived at max torque and the DSG doesn't lose much MPG to the 6 Speed.

Believe it or not, the Accord's kerb weight is only 57kg more than the Fabia (1372kg vs 1315kg), so there's really not that much in it - especially as I am a 16 1/2 stone pie-eater!!!

Surprising isn't it? The Fabia vRS weights only only 200kgs less than a Vectra SRi 2.2 Tdi, which is huge in comparison. Why is the PD so heavy? :confused:

Does the Vectra have a cast iron block too? I'm pretty sure my Mondeo has aluminium and weighs in at around 1500kg. Also only has a single pump, rather than the 4 the Fabia has, but I have no idea how they compare size/weight-wise

I think the current Octys weigh a little more than a mondeo but very little in it. Not sure about the Furby though.
