Sold Elise, time for a more practical car

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a 2+2!

Anyone owned a 911? I'm tempted, possibly by a 996 as they are good vfm or a earlier 997. It won't be a daily driver but I'm hoping to get more use from it as I need a third seat to cart the little people around.

Personally I think the 2+2 claim is a bit optimistic.

Have you looked at how much space they have in the back?

Might be OK if you are short and have the seat quite a way forward.

Children are 5 and 8 and there would rarely be four of is in the car. It's that or an Evora which is less practical and more £££.

I'd go and have a look first to see if it suits.

Only a 911 or an Evora?

That's a very limited choice.

A friend had a 911 and used it often with his 2 kids. They were 4 and 6, he liked it a lot.

CNC - thanks.

I might consider an Aston or a Masser but am put off by running costs. Possibly a XFR too.

But I think 911 and Evora are top of the list.

That thread seems to focus on two seaters, the main reason I've sold it because I want a 2+2.

Panamera?

Not my cup of tea but have seen a few doing daily commutes.

Jag XF XFR?

Nissan gtr?

Surprised bossfox didnt suggest it first!

Said before, but the finest car I've ever driven

Not too bad in the back either. Im 5 9 n can fit in relatively comfortably, although probably not for a long journey.

Been in the back of a TTRS too n that was horrible. Litterally couldnt move. Neck bent n knees rammed in.

I pondered about a GTR. They are a bit chav though and almost too fast to be enjoyed on a public road.

I'm seriously thinking a n/a 911 of some sort, just feel I need to own one as a petrol head. Even though I'm not a massive Porsche fan.

Just buy an air cooled Beetle for a few months to get it out of your system.

How about an RX8? *runs and hides*

They can defo be enjoyed on the road, but they are monstrously quick when doing so.

If you arent wanting to lose your licence, then the saying 'driving a slow car fast is more fun than a fast car slow' comes mind.

RX8 - I don't think I could handle the appalling mpg and I want something a bit more special. Not a bad shout though.

Drive a slow car fast is often fun, but I want a bit of balance. I've had very high power Elise's (up to 315 bhp), but want to be a bit more sensible this time round. I think I need to drive a few cars!

What's the budget and what do you want the annual running costs (exc fuel) to be?
