Oil pressure sensor/switch snapped

Featured Replies

Like a gimp I've just snapped this (picture below. Is it safe to run the car until I get a new one later on today?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah should be fine, it just works to detect low oil pressure which then puts a light on the dash.

Thanks mate, just getting a mate to nip me to ECP to get a new one. So is it an oil pressure sensor or switch? Just trying to be as specific as possible as I haven't had a particularly positive experience with ECP and TPS will be closed by the time I can get there :-(

Just got a replacement from ECP. Thanks for answering the question!

Glad you sorted it :)

Me too, just hope everything works when I've put it all back together! (replacing turbo) :-s

I have faith, just pre-oil the turbo, make sure the air filter and turbo Intake pipe is all spotless. I took the airbox off the car and cleaned it all.

An oil and filter change is needed also.

Yes all sorted mate thanks. Has taken me a while but only because I made a couple of embarrassing school boy errors when reassembling everything. So nice to have the car back to normal again, and also really chuffed with the second hand turbo I took a gamble on.
