1989 Skoda 135 Handbrake cable installation

Featured Replies

Hello,

I need your advice on how to re-install the handbrake cable on a 1989 Skoda 135.
I uninstalled it in the first place by removing the rubber cap on the drum brake backing plate hole, and unhooking it from the shoe blindly.
The "installation is the reverse of removal" from the Haynes manual seems impossible given the small size of the hole on the backing plate and the fact that without a clear drawing from neither the Haynes manual or service manual of the drum assembly, it's hard to even know exactly what to do.

Would someone here:
a) have advice on how to re-install the cable with the backplate hole method?
B) know how to remove the drum without the special Skoda tool?
c) have some very clear pictures of the drum assembly?

Regards,
