Hi all . I fitted a clutch and dmf 1500 miles ago . Since Its been done , I've noticed that when you change gear there seems to be a knock ( feels like a loose chain on a motorcycle !! ) feels like the drive train is playing catch up .. Sorry a out the description ..

I've put a powerflex red dog bone mount trying to fix the problem .. But it's still there .. However I tried pulling away with bonnet open and eng seems to move a lot !!! How much movement should the mounts have .. Cars done 130k ...

Any help appreciated

Would you say it was that mount more then the one on the cambelt side ??

You have to be very smooth with gear changes and pulling away ... Would you get another standard mount ?? And is there anyway of looking at it to see its had it ??

pull handbrake up hard put it in 1st gear with bonnet open and rock it on the clutch see if they can see it knocking as that 1 is on the top you will be able to see if its that 1 I ruined my gearbox 1 and it was knocking like mad also check you power flow bush as I had that problem as well I ripped it right down the middle pulling the bolt straight through it towards the engine and that was making a knock causing vibration in the cabin, what power u running?

Cheers for reply Steve .. Only rubbing stg 1 ..so 160 odd .. If you grab the alternator you can pull the engine up and about 5mm I guess .. Can see that movement on the drivers side engine mount.. I will take the battery off and look at the gearbox mount next weekend ...

standard mount be fine but def check gearbox mount and check dogbone ain't split I was running 220bhp and ripped mine apart
