Dry boot mechanism - lubrication?

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a creaking/dry sounding noise when the boot mechanism is winding in/out. Sounds like a little lubrication would sort it. Is it possible for me to lubricate something to resolve this and where. The door mirrors also creak sometimes at the end of opening out. Any suggestions please for lubrication or cause?

I have this too? I used to park underground in the dry and never had this problem. But as soon as I moved and had to park outside thats when the squeak started to happen when I used the Twindoor function. It never did it before. It's going in for a service on Friday so I might ask them to see if it's just a lubrication issue!?

My tailgate creaked even though it's only 6 months old, I sprayed the hinges with spray grease and that sorted it. I think skoda had a cost cutting in their grease department

White grease spray used liberally all around the area mechanism should fix, as stated above..

Great, thanks for this guys; I have the same issue with our twindoor so I'll give this a whirl!

Is that the same stuff as lithium grease?

Yep another vote for white grease. At least you can see it so easy to wipe off excess!

Thanks guys. I'll give the white grease a go. Let you know if it sorts it. But it sounds more like it's really internal somewhere?? What did they say when you had the service Lyon-y-k?

White Lithium grease - 3 in 1 - £5.95 Halfords, I sprayed all moving parts using straw and it's sorted! Also did door hinges/handles while I was at it. Thanks guys. :sun:
