WINDOWS AGAIN

Featured Replies

Hi Guys , I posted on here before Xmas as My drivers side window had packed in . As you know this is a common issue and the motors are expensive . I only have 2 elec windows so finding the drivers one in scrapyards and Ebay is difficult . Since my last post the problem has become a little more interesting . after lots of messing around I noticed I could get the motor to work if I unplugged the unit and plugged it in . but it would only work until the ignition was next turned off . it seems the less time it is plugged in the longer it will work when plugged in (weird ) So I had a sudden moment this morning and realised that the Passenger PCB (fully working) is identical so I whipped the door card off the N/S took the motor off and tested it and worked fine , removed the PCB and put it in the O/S and it worked .

Know its stopped and showing the same symptoms as before , i have also changed the actually drivers motor to rule out that . any ideas .is there anything else that controls the windows I should be looking at ???

Thanks in advance Jon

the  switch unit on the drivers side? I have had the issue as well. Read somewhere that turning the key in the drivers side door lock (to open/close the windows from the outside) re-sets the control unit. I did this after mine had not been working for about 2 weeks. After a few attempts they kicked into life and have been intermittent ever since until about 1 week ago and they now appear to be absolutely fine. Try that dude

Will look at the switch next as I thought it was the motor but I have ruled the motor and PCB
