Remove door card

Featured Replies

Hi

How can I remove the door cards on the front doors? There are some screws at the bottom, but are there any more screws higher up on the door?

Thanks

P

Yes mate, theres two torx head bolts hidden in side the door pull handle, you have to split the handle to get to them, takes a bit of teasing and pulling, after their out its a case if lifting it up off the door but be careful as there lots of cables and wires connected to the door card too

Get a bit of stiff plastic to use as a lever - bike tyre levers are good for this and pop the tweeter cover off and the panel with the electric window switches as well. There are screws behind both as well as the ones you found at the bottom. Then it's mostly brute force (Levering with a screwdriver against a plastic block so as not to mark the paint) to get the rest of the door card off. It hooks over the top of the door at the window seal, so pop the bottom out first and work up. There are 6 plastic expanding connectors, 2 bolts in the bottom of the door, 2 behind the window buttons and one behind the tweeter panel (Which has the unlock button in it).

There are I think 8 separate plugs connecting the door card to the rest of the car and all of them are different designs, so working out how to open some if them will take a bit of messing - all of them clip together though, so pulling on them definitely won't work without damaging something.
