Another victim...

The straw that broke the camels back...

I am not one for freely venting my frustrations, but I do have to say that I am finally done with my VRS.

It's just about a year old and today, after a 10 min drive and literally the moment I got onto the Motorway, a warning message flashed up something along the lines "engine overheating - stop now". Temp gauge was at 130...so I coasted to the next exit and called Skoda assist.

The AA guy who ended up towing it to the dealership, thought the water pump might be the cause. We shall see....

I think I am just very disappointed as I really wanted this car to be a great experience and really...it has not been. The latest being just another issue in a long list of things.

Sorry Skoda... but it'll be good bye...

Shame, have you had lots of issues with it?

I feel your pain, however form another car maker.

I came from both BMW and Vauxhall Insignia Diesel cars that did the same to me as you've experienced - several times over!

Best return I ever got out of my diesels were around 50mpg!!

That's why I went for the TSI VRS this time around, best return pre remap has been 50.3mpg and post remap has been 45mpg (I do a lot of long trips)!!

29k miles and not missed a beat, great car,.....the petrol that is!!

Sorry to hear that mate, it's crap having a car that you can't rely on

Sadly yes, it has spent a lot of time in the garage with all kinds little frustrating issues.

headlight and DRL failure (2x), creaking seats, rattling overhead console, engine cutting out in eco mode.

I am sure for every frustrated Octavia owner, there are a thousand happy ones...I'd just rather be one of the happy ones.

So sorry to read this, just wish you could sort it once and for all.

It is how the dealers deal with the issues that is the frustrating part.

Before I got rid of my my first O3 which was a lemon, the dealer kept taking the stance of 'No Fault Found' or 'That is a normal characteristic'.

I had to resort to videoing and photographing faults, as well as getting SUK involved. And guess what, every fault was eventually agreed to be a fault.

Puddle lights staying on for hours after car was locked - BCM replaced

Start Stop system errors - multiple software updates

Half the interior switch illumination not working - wiring short behind the dash

No DAB logos - out of date firmware

Columbus constantly locking up - replaced

Squeaky seats - velcro

Interior trim kept coming loose - never rectified and I gave up
