So that I don't occupy any more space on the 6x9 thread, I am going to carry on with this as an information gathering exercise to eventually go live and attempt to fit speakers in the rear doors as in the Seat Toledo.

 

If anybody has any pictures of the rear door trim initially so that I can see what needs to be done there first, I would be most grateful, as I shall be accumulating bits over the next couple of months to do this.

 

I would also be interesting to know if the mk4 golf rear door trim would fit also, and if not a straight fit how much modifying may be needed.

 

Any info gratefully received at this stage while I get my thinking cap on, and a big thanks to Snow Muncher for supplying the idea in the first place.

I can't be much help but I will say I miss the standard sound system of my tolly v5 compared to this vrs.

I may be wrong but looking at pics of golf iv trims it looks as though the window edge is more angular and ramped up slightly towards the back? Think that will be the thing, guess you can easily get round the clips and screws being in different locations if that is a problem.

Be interested to see how you get on anyway, it is a good idea.

I would recommend simply fitting a small, active subwoofer in the boot (I fitted mine in the side netting 'pocket').  it is an 8 inch 'flat' model so is about the size of a cut down Yellow Pages.

Theres also the standard woofer that was fitted to some A3/S3 audis which fits over the rear wheel arch and is very oem

I had some of the Toledo rear door cards in storage, but now can't find them

 

v.annoying - I suspect they've been biffa'd

 

I remember the door card being the same shape as the Octavia rear door card - compared them back-to-back with an Octavia door card

 

The front aren't the same otherwise I'd have fitted them all there and then

 

I had an idea to get the front doorcards retrimmed to match the Toledo rear

 

Seeing the inbuilt speaker grill in the Toledo got me wondering what type of speaker mount the Toledo used an whether it would fit

 

Somehow I doubt its going to be as easy as just bolting the Toledo inner door panel into the Octavia's door
