Standard spec for vRS petrol model ?

Featured Replies

I am currently considering buying a vRS estate model......it's the 20valve petrol model. This is a salvage car that I'm looking at........it has had a very light rear bump. Just the rear bumper which has been removed) and a wide dent in the tailgate. It doesn't seem to have any damage beyond the above. It has a towbar fitted, which I think has protected the rear end somewhat.

It is an 04 plate, which I assume would make it a Mk1 model ??  Could anyone give me the standard specs for this car, please ??  Such as: are all vRS's 4 wheel drive.....power output.....any particular issues to look out for.....reliability etc.....

Could I use the rear bumper and tailgate from any Octavia estate, for repairs ??

  Will await any replies.....thanks....

Yes 04 is a MK1. Not all VRs are 4wd, IIRC its only the WRC model that is?? (May be wrong)

Here is a link to all the facts and figures you ask for...

NO uk vRS models have or had 4 wheel drive

Yes its a mk1

Tailgate same but rear spoiler?

Why do people share diff info without knowing facts ??

No Vrs wrc etc has 4x4

The only 4x4 is the elegance

All Vrs and wrc have same engine and out out 180bhp

need to check the boot floor as it can bend when inpacted with tow bar fitted

No vRS has 4x4. All are 180bhp unless remapped. Buyers guide is stickied at the top of this board and should give you all you need [emoji106]

Standard spec headlines, half leather seats, 4x elecy windows, alloys, spoiler, 6cd changer, aircon etc..

Some cars may have some extras fitted. Extras included parking sensors, cruise control, sunroof and xenon headlights. My 2003 model has all the extras apart from the xenons :(

All had 180bhp

WRC ltd editions had lots more extras as standard

Some had 'ESP' also as an option - ASR is standard.  The estate also had 16" wheels.  Some hatchbacks had 16s very early on but most should have 17" fitted

Apologies, I thought the WRC being the rally-ish version did.

My bad

Yes, thanks for that.... I do have access to someone with a proper jig system,so that can be checked and sorted,if the car comes at the right price.

Thanks everyone for the very informative replies......very useful.
