Noisy windows?

Featured Replies

try wiping the rubber seals with windscreen washer fluid

I can't view the link but if they're squealing like a stuck pig then I can sympathise.

I had one like that and it was actually something internal, it just stopped all of a sudden one day after a year of pig noises.

No amount of external lube will cure it, nor will half a can of WD-40 scooshed down the window slot.

I was going to open the door up but seeing as you have to drill out and replace rivets I didn't bother as it was the passenger side and of low priority in the scale of needing done.

My car both front do this and I know it's the rubber on the outside that causes the sound

I just don't know how to kill it

If soapy water temporarily cures it or when it's been raining etc then maybe it is the external rubber seal that's causing the squeal, an application of furniture polish to the glass may help.
